Our Stay at the farm.

We visited Far Coley Farm in April for our first ever SENsational Retreat!

SENsational Tutors is a specialist SEN tutoring company with over 150 tutors across the country. Our tutors are all qualified teachers with extensive experience and skills in delivering online and in person tuition to children and young people with special educational needs. A large proportion of the young people we teach are not able to attend school due to trauma or lack of appropriate school provision. We also support lots of other families to supplement mainstream and specialist schooling and create bespoke learning packages to meet the needs of each individual learner.

We all love our jobs very much and are passionate about helping as many families as we can. As we are from all over the country, we do not get many opportunities to be together other than on screen, so we wanted to create an opportunity for tutors and staff to come together to celebrate and share the amazing work that we are doing. We also felt that a weekend away - making time just for ourselves was much needed!

Our group consisted of 11 tutors and staff. We were so lucky to have wonderful humans who were happy to share their skills and expertise and offered sessions for us all during the weekend.

We were blessed with incredible weather and enjoyed yoga on the lawn, mindfulness in the woods, cookery demonstrations, a spoon workshop, painting and a pamper evening!

We cooked our own meals - with a magnificent Sunday lunch which was much enjoyed by all. Our Yorkshire Puddings were the finest ever seen!

On Saturday evening we were cooked for by Sam (FCF's in house chef) so that everyone in the group could take part in our Murder Mystery evening. Entitled "Murder at Far Coley Farm", it consisted of Lord Heathcliff (aka Kermit the Frog - who features heavily in the day to day running of the business) being hit over the head with a candlestick and murdered! We were all allocated a character and the effort everybody made with their costumes was fantastic. It took a little longer than we expected - as we all got very involved in our characters - it was eventually revealrd that Reverend Will Beedone was the culprit!  Our faces and tummies still hurt from laughing!

We enjoyed time in the hot tub and just being together in the beautiful house and lodge and basking in the sun in the spectacular grounds.

It was a perfect, restful, joyful and very special weekend.
